Ger McDonnell, the first Irishman to climb K2, has died along with 8-10 others, on the descent...as is often said, reaching the summit is only half way. Very sad news. Some sketchy details are available by clicking here.

Finally finished my woodie bouldering wall this week - it has a 40 degree overhang measuring 2.7 x 2.5m, and a variable angle panel from 5 degrees to 40 degrees measuring 2.5 x 1.3m, plus roof holds heading out across several joists...now all I have to do is climb instead of build, and I might actually remember how to climb!!! Gill is away in Queensland at the moment studying her Public Health masters at James Cook University, so I am bored! miss her lots...
