December 26 Black Eye FridayCheck out my brother Gareth's band Black eye Friday singing the blues on THIS LINK!!! It's brilliant... December 19 Parrot ShelfChecked out a crag we haven't been to before yesterday...the Parrot Shelf (and the Paradiso). Kind of like a cross between West Cape Howe in WA, with a bit of the Burren thrown in, and some Fairhead action (in that it is dolerite). Beautiful atmospheric seaside spot...lovely wee routes...will go again!!! Took receipt of the "Underdeveloped" DVD last week, hot off the burner from Ricky Bell and the lads in Belfast - it went via Vancouver for some reason - with a wee message inside from Ricky, which was nice. It has come out well. They tightened it up a bit since my first couple of viewings, but the extras are some of the best bits...great little flick...
December 10 And back home againBeen back on the Pipes since I have been home, as well as the usual lots of riding etc...ticks so far are:
December 01 Arapiles and the GrampiansJust got back from ten days in Victoria. Caught up with Catherine in Melbourne, which was great, and also got to see Sarah and Becky there, which was a nice bonus! ( I haven't seen Becky in five or six years!)
Arapiles was good, my climbing wasn't. Andrew Peacock came down too with his mate Henri (or not henri?) so they did some hard stuff while Gill got some leading practice in and we did some multipitches and stuff...you know, the classics! Anyway....we decamped to the Grampians half way through, due to Pines fever....the Grampians is great! Can't believe we drove past them last year without so much as a sideways glance! The tick list runs like this (KEY: s= I seconded, L= I led, TR= toprope, alt leads= alternate leads):
Grampians (Summerday Valley)
Grampians (Bundaleer)
Grampians (Mt Stapylton)
Arapiles
